Intensive Outpatient Program ( IOP)
Beachside Recovery Center offers both an Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and an Outpatient Program (OP). These addiction recovery programs offer introduction into 12-step programs, various types of therapy (individual, group, and family), as well as the establishment of a sober support network. We want to see our clients sober, but we also want to see them succeed. We understand that oftentimes education can take a backseat when an individual is focused on obtaining and using addictive substances. To this end, we encourage becoming involved in continued education throughout your time in our addiction treatment programs. We offer a wide variety of options for our clients to be able to continue their education while undergoing treatment for alcohol or drug addiction. We offer individual meetings with counselors to support our clients in achieving academic goals. Beachside Recovery Center offers life skill classes, academic counseling, assistance with applications for college, structured study time, transportation to and from school, as well as help with registering for classes, job hunting, and career preparation. In addition to fostering your sobriety, we are committed to helping you jumpstart your academic and professional career paths.
When clients enroll into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), our staff will perform comprehensive assessments to determine the individual’s substance abuse history. Our staff is committed to working together to give our clients what they need. Depending on the severity of addiction, some clients may be prescribed medication to ease the detoxification and recovery process. At the beginning of treatment, each client will be assigned to a team of experienced staff members. Throughout the course of your addiction recovery program, you will meet with these individuals for weekly one hour sessions to track your progress, development, and recovery. During your first meeting with your case manager, he or she will guide you through an Addiction Severity Index evaluation to address the areas of your life that need to be targeted during treatment. Based upon this assessment, your case manager will work with you to develop a customized treatment plan that will become your own personal addiction recovery program.
Case Manager
Comprehensive Care
The role of the case manager encompasses many functions. Each week, your case manager will make weekly phone calls to your family, in order to inform them of your progress. In addition, the case manager will take care of any legal issues as well. Due to the way addiction recovery has progressed, the court system now prefers to direct individuals to addiction treatment programs as an alternative to incarceration. Our case managers at Beachside Recovery Center have established relationships with probation officers and judges. Let us take care of weekly progress reports, and letters regarding completion, graduation, or attendance to judges, parole officers, and future employers.IOP Daily Life
Throughout the course of treatment we will work with you to identify and treat any psychological problems that may have developed due to extended periods of substance abuse. We also offer relapse prevention techniques, positive coping mechanisms, and sober social norms. Beachside Recovery Center is committed to your success. As such, we offer classes on budgeting, creating resumes, relaxation techniques, maintenance of bodily well-being, and more. As you begin to incorporate these skills into your daily life, you will work with your case manager to develop a concrete discharge plan. This is important because the client continues to receive support for long-term sobriety. We will work with you to decide what aftercare options and transitional support will best help you maintain your recovery.
While participating in IOP, you will join others in group therapy for 15 hours per week. You will also workout at the gym 5 days per week. Our program is intensively focused on maintaining a proper diet and exercise as means to help with depression, anxiety, and the establishment of regulated sleep patterns. In order to be involved in IOP, you must be clinically stable and have the recommendation of your case manager. While you are going through your addiction recovery program, you will see that Beachside Recovery Center places an emphasis on group bonding and off-site activities. We offer a wide variety of outings and activities as part of recreational therapy. We also offer our clients the opportunity to suggest new activities and places to go. Potential group activities include kayaking, hiking, beach trips, paddle boarding, indoor rock climbing, surfing, art, and golfing. In addition to these activities, clients have the opportunity to go to the movies each weekend.
The goal of the IOP addiction recovery program is to create achievable goals that enable successful and lasting sobriety. Our addiction treatment plans generally last 30, 60, or 90 days and can even be extended to 6 months, if necessary. It is important that you are open minded when seeking out treatment. It is possible that you will need to remain in the program longer than you had originally thought, in order to overcome an addiction of high severity. Amenities to the program include transportation for the duration of treatment and high quality.
Part of the program involves completing a workbook about improving yourself. This assignment is extremely beneficial because it covers your personal goals and it also assesses your current mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional state. The workbook also includes a timeline and portion for reflection about how substance abuse has affected your life. There are portions where you can write about life before and after treatment, as well as your desires for the future. These workbooks are key to mapping out a plan for a sober future.
Beachside Recovery Center’s’ daily schedule involves multiple activities like therapy sessions, exercise, educational group meetings, and more. It is our goal to help keep you motivated to stay sober, while educating you as much as possible. Our program director and case managers will write to judges, probation officers, and court systems to keep them up to date on your progress. They will also keep them informed of any evaluations, therapy choices, and test results that you complete while in recovery.
